There are two chief areas for bar activity - Jacksonville Beach and Atlantic Beach. Both these areas are located within 2 miles. Bars on the Atlantic beach are in front of the ocean in a single corner. Generally, all of them have live music and are without a cover. The crowd comprises of largely singles falling within the age group of 20 to 40. Pete's Bar, The Sun Dog, Ragtime Tavern, Sunny Caribee, Sea Horse Inn are worth visiting.

Bars of the Jacksonville Beach have a more or less same crowd as the bars of the Atlantic beach, but on the whole have much more options than the Atlantic beach bars. Lynich Irish pub, the Ritz, Ocean Club and Freebird live are worth a visit.

Generally, all the bars are open till 2 A.M depending upon the place.

Jacksonville Beach gained popularity with the tourists only in recent times. Till about the 60s it used to be the locals favorite particularly during the week ends and sported a number of penny arcades where the kids could enjoy a variety of games, the roller coasters, the merry go rounds and the cotton candy stands.

The Jacks beach is made up of two main areas - the Atlantic beach, and the Jacksonville beach distanced by two miles from one another. A further classification is the Neptune beach and the Ponte Verda beach. For visitors focusing on Atlantic beach bars, the Atlantic Blvd offers a wide range of options. Shorts and Jeans are not the 'in' outfits here and the crowds, largely singles belong to the 20-40 age profile. The Jacksonville Beach however offers more options to visitors.

The Lynch's Irish Pub is a good place to hang out, but if you are looking to mingle, choose The Ritz. The Ritz name should not confuse you because it is just a basic bar frequented more by the 30s crowd. Strangers may find this place a bit overwhelming at times.
