The island also contains the remnants of a man called San Juan del Puerto. The main architectural structure of the plantations is the house built up by John McQueen. This house is the most ancient plantation house in the state of Florida. Kingsley Plantation was a polygamous household which posed great resistance to slavery. This plantation is a witness to every kind of rule. It was first under the rule of Spain and then America. There are also some remnant of a Spanish mission which had settled down here.
This house is worth a spectacle because it includes the ancient architecture consisting of one story pavilions. It just looks like the British houses of the 17th century. The bedrooms have fireplaces which were increasingly used during that time. The slave cabins located in this place are necessary see. They draw attention of the visitor more than the ballrooms because they depict what had happened there years back. Before travelling to this place, reservations have to be made through phone. It's an interesting place to visit once you want to know about the history of US.
