Jacksonville Zoo Hours & Visiting Information

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is a great way to spend a day. Housing more than 2,000 animals and 1,000 plant varieties, it makes for the prime wildlife destination for your whole family.

Also the JAX Zoo takes pride in the only walking safari in Northeast Florida. A variety of fun activities are available for guests to the zoo, from zoo & garden tours to train rides & day camps. Just join to discover the earth's wildlife and have fun interactions with animals and environment.

When to visit Jacksonville Zoo? This fantastic zoo is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 364 days a year. The zoo is not open on Christmas Day. From March 5 to September 6, summer hours will be adopted for the zoo. You can visit from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and the zoo will be open until 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Please note that the Zoo gate closes one hour prior to the zoo closing hours.

Note: Jacksonville has a mild climate all year around and the city just has some cold days in the winter period. Many visitors do not visit the zoo in winter as most animals are not in the mood to welcome and interact with coming guests. The summer season is a peak travel period and involves bigger throngs and higher accommodation prices. If you want to avoid big crowds, visit the zoo on weekdays and non-holidays.

A host of fascinating upcoming events will be displayed at Jacksonville Zoo. If you're planning to visit the zoo in the near future, take advantage of these special events and enjoy more at the zoo.
