Miracle Strip Amusement Park
When you travel Panama City Beach you are sure to hear of the Miracle Strip Amusement Park. It was the most popular amusement park in the city. The park started operations in 1963 and became an instant hit. There were many rides that were spectacular, to say the least. The sound and light effect added to all the excitement.
The Starliner Roller Coaster as the name suggests was the star attraction. The amusement park had few smaller rides and an arcade centre along with food stalls. Panama City Beach started becoming a hot spot tourist destination and then along with it the Miracle Strip also grew in popularity. The park also grew in size with many new rides being introduced from time to time.

The amusement parks popularity continued right up to the 2000s but with the city becoming more of a spring break destination the park started getting fewer visitors over time. The Miracle Strip had rides like the abominable snowman, the dungeon, musik express, haunted castle, the paratrooper and lots more.
The Amusement park had other attractions too. The arcade there had various games. This was quite popular with the kids. There were loads of food and drink stalls all around the park. The smaller versions of big rides were available for the kids which too were very popular. Live shows were staged from time to time to keep the people entertained.

Panama City Beach’s biggest attraction shut down in 2004. The land which housed the great amusement park was sold by Bill Lark, its owner for developing condos in the place. It is said that they would be named “Miracle Condos”.
September 2004 saw the curtains come down on the park that had entertained generations. Although Miracle Strip now remains only etched in memory when you travel Panama City Beach you would still hear people talk about the fun times they have had at the park.
