The arena was the venue for the NCAA Men's basketball tournament in 2006. It has also hosted the NFL Superbowl series. The Jacksonville Barracudas ice hockey team called it home until 2006-2007. The year 2010 would see the arena opening up for the Arena Football 1 matches.
